- Chapter 1 General

- Article 1 (Purpose)
- The purpose of these bylaws is to prescribe the education and guidance of students admitted to the Korean Painting Major and the Western Painting Major (from now on referred to as the Department) and the details necessary for the operation of the Department based on Incheon National University's academic rules, bylaws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Article 2 (Deliberation)
- The Undergraduate Faculty Council is the body that deliberates on essential matters of the Faculty, enacts and revises internal regulations, and comprises full-time faculty members.
- Article 3 (Principle)
- The curriculum operation shall be based on the standards for admission and scholarship at the time of enrollment. If there is no regulation or a difference in interpretation, it shall be decided after discussion by the faculty council.
- Article 4 (Applicability)
- Applies to all undergraduate students.
- Article 5 (Amendments)
- May be amended as necessary.

- Article 1 (Advisor)
- Advisors are assigned as full-time professors in their majors and are responsible for one academic year per full-time professor.
The advisor may be changed in case of academic changes, such as a leave of absence.

- Article 2 (Enrollment)
- ① Students must apply for and complete the required number of credits per semester (17-19) within the course application period announced each semester.
Students with a 3.5 or higher GPA from the previous semester can apply for 21 credits, and those with a 4.0 or higher GPA can apply for up to 24 credits.
However, if the previous semester's grades were taken abroad, you may be unable to apply for more than the standard number of credits. - ② The minimum number of credits to apply for the final year is 9. Students who have completed 8 semesters can only apply for insufficient credits for graduation if tuition is paid according to the number of credits applied for.
- ③ Cyber course (OCU) subjects (liberal arts options) can be registered for no more than 6 credits per semester, and courses registered as cyber courses can only be changed to cyber courses when changing course registration, and a separate system fee must be paid.
- ④ When applying for a course, you must apply for at least 3 courses in the major area, including the major core (required).
Failure to do so may result in penalties, including disqualification from academic merit scholarships. - ⑤ Major core (required) courses must be completed before graduation, while major intensification (optional) courses can be selected and completed for graduation credit.

- Article 3 (Curriculum)
- ① Follow the curriculum for the year of enrollment. (Appendix 1)
- ② Readmitted students can choose either the year of initial enrollment or the year of readmission to define their baseline.
- Article 4 (Graduation)
- To graduate, you must fulfill the following requirements.
- ① Those who have met the requirements of the graduation evaluation criteria under Article 61 of the Academic Regulations
- ② Completion of courses and credits in the designated areas and completion of all major core (required) classes specified in the curriculum schedule at the time of admission.
However, exceptions may be made for the following conditions. - 1) Major core (required) classes that are abolished due to curriculum reorganization and cannot be taken as unspecified classes of the same subject shall be excluded from the graduation requirement.
- 2) Suppose a transfer student cannot graduate because they cannot complete the major core (required) classes due to overlapping timetables. In that case, they may be allowed to replace them with major intensification (optional) classes through a faculty meeting.
- ④ The faculty recognize those who have participated in a graduation exhibition and have a grade of D or higher.
- Article 5 (Graduation Exhibition)
- Division of Fine Arts students must complete a departmentally approved graduation exhibition and earn a grade of D or better to graduate.
- ① Only students who have passed two graduation exhibition evaluation sessions before graduation are eligible to exhibit and must earn a grade of D or higher in the final exhibition.
- ② The Graduation Exhibition Evaluation Schedule will be held once in the first semester and once in the second semester on dates designated by each major.
However, suppose the examination cannot be held on the designated evaluation date due to unavoidable circumstances. In that case, the department must be notified in advance, and the examination may be held separately through a departmental meeting and recognized.

- Article 1 (Types and targets)
- The types and targets of Incheon National University scholarships follow the Incheon National University Scholarship Provision Regulations, and the autonomous areas set by the academic departments under Article 8, Paragraph 1 are as follows.
- ①Academic Excellence Scholarship (Enrollment Tuition): Those who have completed 17 or more credits for first, second, and third-year students and 15 or more credits for fourth-year students in the previous semester and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher per Incheon National University's scholarship granting regulations, and who meet the undergraduate autonomy criteria (Appendix 2).
- ② Scholarships other than academic excellence scholarships, selected through the faculty's recommendation, are recommended according to school regulations. If there are no regulations, they are decided through the faculty meeting.
